Open Call for Artwork: 2027 You Are Here Calendar

CALL FOR ARTISTS:
North Van Arts is accepting submissions for artwork to be included in the 2027 You Are Here Calendar, which will be printed and available for sale in Fall 2026 (September/October). Selected artworks will also be featured in two exhibitions: North Van Arts – Art in the Community at Lynn Valley Library (October 31, 2026–January 16, 2027) and West Vancouver Community Arts Council at The Silk Purse (January 20–February 7, 2027).

The calendar highlights locations across North Vancouver and West Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, presenting artist interpretations of regional places, history, and culture. Both emerging and professional artists may apply. Eligible submissions are 2D visual artworks in any medium except photography and digital or AI-generated work. Artists must reside in Metro Vancouver, with priority given to North Shore-based artists.

Applicants may submit up to two artworks. Images may be low-resolution for submission, but high-resolution files will be required upon acceptance. Works must meet framing, orientation, and exhibition readiness requirements outlined in the guidelines.

FEES/COMPENSATION:
This is a fundraising initiative and artists are not paid for inclusion or exhibition. Selected artists receive five complimentary calendars and a North Van Arts membership. Artists may sell original works during exhibitions, with a 65% artist share and 35% gallery/administration fee.
