Please note two upcoming deadlines for submitting a request for the 2013-14 Theatre Rental Grant Program.
The Theatre Rental Grant program offers financial assistance to non-profit arts and cultural organizations to use the Vancouver Civic Theatres (Orpheum, Vancouver Playhouse, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, and the recently opened Orpheum Annex). The program is intended to assist with artistic development, increasing profile and expanding audiences for organizations by providing access to well-equipped and centrally-located professional venues.
- April 5, 2013; dates booked with Peter Kendall, booking coordinator at Civic Theatres: 604.665.3028 or email@example.com;
- April 19, 2013; two hard copies (one original + one copy) of the 2013-14 Theatre Rental Grant application form submitted to Cultural Services.
With these deadlines, the City is returning to the seasonally-based grant allocations, rather than allocations based on the calendar year, to better accommodate the planning schedules of organizations who are regular users of the civic theatres.
The application form is for:
- Groups who would like to apply for a grant for dates between June - December 2013, but who have not applied for or received a grant for this period already.
- Groups who would like to apply for a grant for dates between January 1 - August 31, 2014.
Please note that there is no longer a Booking Request Form. All applicants are to submit their dates to Civic Theatres after having discussed their plans with Peter Kendall (e.g. by email, word or excel format). Please refer to the Theatre Rental Grant guidelines for specific details.
