The 2015/2016 Program Guidelines and Application Forms to assist in completing requests for the BC Arts Council’s Special Project Assistance – Capacity and Sustainability and Innovations programs are now available to download from the BC Arts Council website at www.bcartscouncil.ca. Note that July 2, 2015 is the only deadline for applications for both programs for 2015/16.
The Special Project Assistance - Capacity and Sustainability program is designed to assist arts and cultural organizations to undertake specific activities that will increase their capacity and contribute to long term sustainability.
The Special Project Assistance – Innovations program supports extraordinary commissioning, research, creation, development and/or production costs incurred by B.C. arts and cultural organizations for projects that demonstrate innovation, experimentation and risk taking. Funding will be provided for the commissioning, research, creation, development, production and/or public presentation of new works across the province by organizations with a demonstrated track record in the creation, development and production or public presentation of new work.
To be eligible for these programs, applicants must:
- Be an arts organization, museum or Aboriginal cultural centre assisted by the BC Arts Council in the five most recent years (2010/11 - 20114/2015 government fiscal years) through BC Arts Council operating or discipline-specific project programs;
- Be an incorporated non-profit arts and cultural organization assisted through the BC Arts Council’s Shared Cost Arrangement programs at BC Touring Council, First Peoples’ Cultural Council (Aboriginal Arts Development Awards) and Creative BC (Arts Innovation Fund), in the two most recent years (2013/14 or 2014/15 government fiscal years).
Applicants may submit to both programs in 2015/16.
The Special Project Assistance – Capacity and Sustainability and Innovations programs remain under review; further news about these programs will be available later in 2015/16.
