Heritage BC's nomination process for Japanese Canadian historic places has been extended to November 30, 2016.

Stakeholders in the Japanese Canadian community requested the extension in order to consider more thoughtful nomination submissions.

Nominations are being sought from the public for historic places with significance to British Columbians of Japanese descent which reflect the development and history of the province.

Heritage BC has been contracted to administer the nomination process. Nominations can be made and information about the project can be found here.

Submissions will be evaluated by a selection committee appointed jointly by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Ministry of International Trade, with final decisions to be made in early 2017.
