A new commercial arts and culture hub centre will be opening in the BC village of Salmo. According to The Nelson Daily, the complex includes "everything from Village art windows, a Village art and culture garden, a unique reclaimed building materials and salvage boutique, custom upholstery shop, tattoo shop and art studio." The hub opens Saturday, May 20.

The centre is the result of a partnership between the Village of Salmo, local entrepreneurs, and a California investor. The hub lives in a municipal building converted by a local organization, Heritage Hub Inc., with special attention paid to sustainability and efficiency.

“Salmo is a hub community with a lot to offer," says Salmo mayor Stephen White. "Thanks to this collaboration, we now have an inviting place for artists and art enthusiasts to view and display their art. It is also a commercial art centre, a destination location and another great reason to stop and stay in Salmo.”
