Applications are open for the Made in BC Main Stage Pitch & Showcase, which offers BC dance and performance communities as well as BC-based presenters a platform to connect with the full evening-length work of contemporary dance artists.

The Main Stage Pitch & Showcase event on January 29, 2019 is a one-day event offering opportunities for BC-based artists to connect with presenters in the MiBC network as well as other presenters visiting Vancouver for the annual 2019 PuSh Festival.

Made in BC engages in a significant outreach effort to encourage artists to apply, and the network of Made in BC presenters select artists they’d like to see showcase and meet live in January. All of the artists information and videos from their applications, whether chosen to pitch or not, remain on the Made in BC website as an online resource for the year.

Made in BC then organizes the annual showcase and pitch session from this group of selected artists. Artists show their work and share more about their projects and creative imaginings. Our aim is to pack the day with multiple opportunities for artists and presenters to connect and create possibilities for future tours and/or creative residencies.

The deadline for applications is Friday, September 7. Indigenous and culturally diverse artists and companies are encouraged to apply. More information about the application process can be found here. To apply online, click here.

Artists with questions about the application are encouraged to stop by the Made in BC office (#303, 268 Keefer Street, Vancouver) on Friday, August 3 or Friday, August 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Contact Made in BC executive director Jane Gabriels to let her know in advance if you plan on stopping by. You can also phone 604 893 8830.
