EVENT: BC Buds at Firehall & Other Venues

Now celebrating its sixth year, the hugely successful BC Buds Spring Performing Arts Fair is getting bigger and better.

This year’s fair will be held May 21, 22, & 23 at the Firehall Arts Centre, and with the support of the City of Vancouver's Great Beginnings program is expanding to other venues in the Firehall’s neighbourhood.

BC Buds is Vancouver's longest running multi-disciplinary showcase of emerging artists and emerging works of established artists.

Eight stimulating works have been curated by MACHiNENOiSY Artistic Director Daelik and choreographer Claire French. The year's 12 Minutes Max features the work of Jennifer Clarke, Julia Carr, Caitlin Griffin, Kiri Figueiredo, Olivia Shaffer and Justin Reist, Julianne Chapple, Philippa Myler and Sarah Ballard. This event is a joint project of the Dance Centre and the Firehall Arts Centre.

You can experience performances from emerging and established artists - from magic to music, from dance to drama, at the Firehall, St. James Church, Ironworks and the Police Museum.

The weekend will have a little bit of everything and lots to enjoy with great family programming on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Check out the Firehall website www.firehallartscentre.ca for the complete schedule.  Something for the whole family, and its FREE.
