Cultural Services has an immediate opportunity for a long term space lease of approximately 8,500sf within the CBC campus. We are seeking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI) from qualified Vancouver-based performing, festival, media non profits. The call for EOIs is the first step in a selection process to secure an eligible organization willing to take on the master lease for the full space who will sublease any surplus space to smaller eligible organizations in a collaborative/incubator model of operation. The choice of performing, festival or media is reference to the CBC operations and opportunity for synchronicity within the overall CBC campus. Pending the outcome of the EOI process, short-listed organizations will be invited to submit a more detailed application for the space. Target tenancy is spring 2011.

The CBC amenity space may be used for the administrative support of cultural activities including office, board/meeting/education rooms, reference/research, small scale rehearsal and other support activities. Ineligible uses include presentation or large scale storage, rehearsal or production. Depending on the operator selected, the space will have minimal or no rent, however, organizations will be required to pay common area costs in addition to all facility utility costs as well as organizational programming and administration costs (note: common area costs are currently estimated at $6.00/sf). The space will require tenant improvements for HVAC, electrical and plumbing as well as any demising or partitioning for programmatic use; these improvements will be the responsibility of the long term lease tenant.

A site visit and discussion with staff is mandatory. For further information and applications procedures, please go to www.vancouver.ca/culture...... or contact Debra Bodner, Cultural Planner at debra.bodner@vancouver.ca or 604-873-7211.
