recipients of the Creative Places + Spaces Bursary competition. This
Bursary, created with the support of Vancouver City Savings Credit Union
is designed to help build the knowledge and capacity of Vancouver arts

Help Transform the new Woodward's Development
The City of Vancouver invites non-profit organizations to respond to a
Request for Proposal (RFP) for generic office and assembly space in the new
Woodward's development at Hastings and Abbott Street. The RFP is open to any
Vancouver based non-profit organization with a social, cultural or artistic
mandate that wishes to lease space in the project. Note the space will be

Artists and their supporters will be out in force to rally against recent funding cuts on Wednesday, September 9.
The dance community will be gathering at the Scotia Bank Dance Centre at 11:30 am, and then walk to Robson Square where they will join other members of the arts community for the rally.

It was an excellent opportunity to communicate the concerns of our community to the new Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, and to offer to help him in trying to reverse the cuts to the BC Arts Council. He wanted everyone to know that both he and the Premier are both very committed to the arts, and that they will do their utmost to ensure that the community is not "hung out to dry" next year when the supplemental funding runs out.
