Canada Council for the Arts invites you to join its 2014 annual public meeting. Chair Joseph L. Rotman and Director and CEO Robert Sirman will discuss Canada Council's latest activities and plans for the future.

The Vancouver Opera has announced a new composer for its latest commissioned opera, Stickboy.

Neil Weisensel will create the music for this innovative work, based on the bullying experiences of spoken word poet Shane Koyczan. The previously-announced composer, Jordan Nobles has had to withdraw for personal reasons.

Dance Victoria’s 2014 Chrystal Dance Prize will award $21,000 to an emerging and/or mature, independent dance artist this year.

The newly renovated York Theatre in East Vancouver needs help from the community. The Cultch, which manages the York Theatre, hopes to name the stage of the newly renovated theatre and place exterior signage on the building to recognize a financial contribution offered by West Coast Reduction Ltd.
