Job Description:
Music on Main seeks an energetic arts marketing professional who wants to enhance the marketing and communications excellence of one of the most celebrated music presenters in Canada’s cultural scene. As a vibrant, mature organization, Music on Main offers its team plenty of opportunity for experience, growth, and autonomy. Our entrepreneurial spirit engages a build-measure-learn model for all that we do, including testing, reporting, and refining production, financial, and administration tools. Reporting directly to the Artistic Director (AD), and working closely with the Artistic Planning & Operations Manager (APOM), the Marketing Manager (MM) is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the organization’s marketing and communications initiatives. The position has two main areas of focus, Marketing and Communications, described below under “Responsibilities.”
This a full-time position, generally working during the day, Monday to Friday, at our downtown Vancouver offices. Occasional remote work (“work from home”) is possible. This position requires you to work flexible hours, attending concerts and events on evenings and weekends. During busy production periods, Music on Main utilizes “hours of work averaging agreements.”
At Music on Main, all employees start with three weeks per year of holidays, plus an additional paid week-long holiday closure over the New Year as well as additional office-wide paid days off. After three months, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package as part of their compensation.

Responsibilities:
Marketing focuses on using audience research and marketing techniques to drive ticket sales, online engagement, and audience relations. Includes: creating, implementing, and managing strategic marketing and communications plans; copy writing for all public-facing marketing material, social media, promotions, and weekly e-mail marketing; overseeing design, publishing, and distribution of all digital, printed, and other public-facing material; preparing and editing concert programs; tracking and reporting marketing campaign results; managing ticket sales data through ShowPass (sales) and eTapestry (CRM); and, recruiting and supervising external marketing contractors and marketing volunteers.
Communications focuses on expanding awareness of Music on Main’s activities locally, nationally, and internationally. Includes: providing vision for and managing external communications, including media relations; writing, editing, and coordinating organizational and program communications across email, website, social media, media, and printed materials; implementing and managing all social media, media relations, and promotions; supporting audience, artist, donor, and funder relations at events with the Music on Main team; and working with the Digital Content Strategist to develop compelling and engaging video content.
Qualifications:
You’re a creative, ambitious professional who is passionate about storytelling and the performing arts. You've worked in a related position for a minimum of three years, and you excel at meeting goals and deadlines. You’re an excellent writer whose writing grabs attention. Your communication and interpersonal skills allow you to make lasting connections with colleagues, audience members, and artists. Your familiarity with software like InDesign and Premiere Pro lets you edit content in a breeze. Your curiosity propels inventive campaigns and insightful research.

Remuneration:
$54,000-$58,000 plus generation paid vacation and a comprehensive benefits package
