Job Description:
Operations & Development Coordinator: The Ultimate Festival Multitasker Are you ready to go behind the scenes of Victoria’s most iconic arts events? The Victoria Film Festival is looking for a Development & Operations Coordinator—the "Swiss Army Knife" of our team. This is a hybrid role for someone who loves the magic of the cinema but lives for the thrill of a well-oiled machine. As the right hand to our General Manager, you’ll be the backbone of the organization. One day you’re optimizing our digital box office to ensure a seamless fan experience; the next, you’re pitching an exciting partnership to a local business or ensuring our office vibe is 10/10.
Responsibilities:
Your Starring Roles
1. The Digital Architect (Box Office & Systems) Master the Flow: Manage the full ticketing lifecycle—from setting up the online platform to seeing the smiles at the "front of house" on opening night. You will analyze it all and share insights with the team. Tech Guru: Keep our digital home (WordPress) looking sharp and our internal world (SharePoint) perfectly organized. Empower the Team: Train our amazing volunteers on the box office systems, ensuring they’re confident and ready for the spotlight.
2. The Relationship Builder (Revenue & Development) Secure the Spotlight: Identify and pitch local businesses to become Festival sponsors. You’ll be the bridge that connects our partners to our audience. Nurture the Magic: Maintain meaningful relationships with our donors, ensuring they know just how vital they are to our mission.
3. The Office Captain (Logistics) Keep it Running: From monthly inventory to supervising our office environment, you make sure the team has everything they need to succeed. Hands On: Get hands-on at events like Art of the Cocktail, Chocolate, and the FreeB Film Festival.
Qualifications:
Are You Our Leading Character? The ideal candidate is a "detail-oriented extrovert." You’re someone who gets a dopamine hit from a perfectly organized folder but also loves a high-energy room. You’ll be a great fit if: You have WordPress and SharePoint skills in your toolkit. You’re familiar with WooCommerce (Foo Sales/Events is a major bonus!). You are comfortable (and confident) reaching out to local businesses. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The "In-Person" Perk: You love being where the action is! This role is based at our Victoria office—no remote work here, because the best part of the arts is being part of the community.
How to Apply:

Why Join Us? Since 1995, the Victoria Film Festival has grown into a year-round powerhouse of cinema, culture, and youth programs. We aren’t just showing movies; we’re broadening perspectives. Salary: $54,000 – $60,000 (based on your experience). Perks: A solid Group Medical Plan (Life, Dental, Extended Health) and an RRSP match after your second annual Victoria Film Festival. The Vibe: A team that values diversity, inclusion, and the sheer joy of a great film. Location: Must be a resident of the Greater Victoria Region.
