The Coastal Jazz & Blues Society (CJBS) is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to building community in Vancouver through exceptional music experiences. Since 1985, we have produced the internationally renowned Vancouver International Jazz Festival, presenting world class artists and spotlighting local talent across jazz, blues, world, creative, and improvised music. Beyond the Festival, we support artistic collaborations, education, community programming, and cultural partnerships throughout the year.

Job Description:
This position runs for a period of ten weeks, May 11 - July 31, 2026 (12 weeks) and reports to the Marketing Director. The Marketing Assistant will play an important support role at Coastal Jazz in the lead up to and during the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (June 19 - July 5).
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the following activities:
Developing social media and digital video content
Ensuring timely delivery of advertising campaign assets and other deliverables
Disseminating information and assets to support VIJF contests and promotions
Ensuring on-site sponsor related signage deliverables are done correctly
Coordinating and monitoring emcee participation
Tracking campaign progress and performance through analytics
Tracking and coordinating delivery of sponsor & partner benefits and deliverables (e.g., social media mentions, on site signage, tickets, invitations, thank-yous, etc.)
Assisting with the development of content calendars for social media and eNewsletter
Cataloguing Festival-related content such as photography and videos
Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly edit content on CapCut & Edits app
Familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
Experience in writing and video production for social media
Experience with Canva, Photoshop or other Adobe design programs will be considered an asset
High level of organization and attention to detail
Comfort with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment
Availability to be on site at events during Festival period
Bonus: Passionate about live music and the arts

Remuneration:
