CJSF Radio broadcasts at 90.1FM to the greater Vancouver region and can be received from Langley to the Strait of Georgia and from the mountains to the US border. Over 2 million people live without our broadcast range. You can also listen online around the world from our website (www.cjsf.ca) or the CJSF mobile app (Android and iOS). CJSF Radio is not just a radio and media outlet, it is a community where you can follow your passion, meet friends, learn new skills, participate in events and have fun! Job Description:

This position (Community Outreach and Engagement) will work closely with the Multimedia/Radio Producer to promote the radio station across various platforms including, on-air, social media, community events & outreach and support the creation and promotion of multimedia and cross-platform content and materials The youth will use video, graphics, audio and social media to promote and communicate content and programming initiatives. This position will require significant evening and weekend work out in the community

Responsibilities:

• Promote CJSF to the surrounding off-campus communities through a variety of methods including social media, events, promotional materials, etc.
• Promote CJSF through participation and tabling at community events and festivals
• Work with the Multimedia/Radio Producer to organize coverage of local community events and festivals, promote CJSF’s programming and the radio station itself.
• Coordinate the operation of information tables and/or live broadcasts from community events and festivals.
• Promote CJSF through the development and execution of Social Media campaigns.
• Create social media content and posts in collaboration with the PR Coordinator and other staff
• Create promotional graphics including posters, brochures, social media images and video
• Recruit and coordinate station volunteers to participate and support promotional and outreach activities.
• Use hardware equipment (Microphones, Mixing Boards, Radio Studios, Portable Recording Devices, etc) and software (Digital Audio Workstations, Audio converters, etc) to record, engineer, edit and produce audio content for radio and podcasting
• Use hardware equipment (Cameras, lights, etc) and Graphic Editing Software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc) to produce, edit & modify graphic content for social media, web, and print publication
• Use hardware equipment (camera, tripods, lights, video mixers, sound equipment) and Video Editing/Production Software (DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premier, Adobe AfterEffects etc) to record, engineer, edit and produce video content for social media and web publication
• Use GSuite and Microsoft Office for scripting, communication, and administrative tasks
• Other duties as directed by the Station Manager and Executive Committee.

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable with a strong work ethic
• Strong research and organizational skills
• Experience working with and coordinating volunteers
• Ability to work in a dynamic, hectic environment with a minimum of supervision
• Experience working for non-profit, community organizations an asset
• Graphic design and layout experience is an asset
• Community radio experience and/or video experience an asset, but not necessary
