Organization Description:

EMV has a long-standing reputation for the presentation and study of Western classical repertoires in an historical context. It offers one of the most ambitious programs of its type in North America, presenting an average of 25-30 concerts per year featuring internationally renowned local and guest artists. It has a main season that runs through the fall, winter and spring, and a two week-long summer festival and educational programme. It is one of the most active non-profit presenting organisations in the Lower Mainland.

Our current team is small (only 5 FTEs), extremely collegial, fun loving and positive while also being hard working. We are seeking to fill this position with someone who works well as part of a group while also being self-directed. Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and conscientious person to help us during the busiest two weeks of our year (July 27-August 7, 2026). What do you get? Professional experience, contacts, an enhanced resume in concert production, and a reasonable hourly wage.
The position involves assisting in all aspects of rehearsals and performances when we have on average two performances & rehearsals per day. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to get professional experience with world-class musicians and wanting to familiarize themselves with the performing arts sector.

Duties involve a wide range of concert production experience, including but not limited to: setting up instruments and music stands, meeting tuners and venue staff to open and close facilities, attending and assisting with rehearsals, and helping with the summer festival in general. Work sites include Early Music Vancouver’s main office near Granville & 7th, Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Vancouver, and the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

Qualifications:

Some experience in the music industry would be helpful but not essential (willingness to learn is more important), ability to lift 50lbs, valid BC Drivers License helpful but not essential, familiarity with Microsoft Excel & Word.
