Job Description:
We are seeking a collaborative theatre director based in the Greater Vancouver Area or the Lower Mainland who can easily travel to North Vancouver to help bring the original one-woman show CHASING to the stage.
CHASING is a funny, honest and thought-provoking show that uses comedy, larger-than-life characters, storytelling and audience interaction to explore ambition, achievement, perfectionism and the relentless pursuit of “enough.” Following an Emerging Artist Showcase, live read-through and audience feedback, CHASING is moving into its next stage of development.
We’re looking for the right creative partner to help shape the existing material into a compelling theatrical production and bring a strong directorial perspective to the work. CHASING is being developed with future performances and touring in mind, with the potential for the director relationship to continue beyond this initial development phase.
Job status: Contract.
Hours: Hours will vary throughout the development and rehearsal process, with some lighter development periods and more concentrated rehearsal weeks (20/hrs/week) around key production milestones.
Term: The exact scope, rehearsal schedule, and deliverables will be determined collaboratively with the selected director.
Second Read-Through: in September 2026*
Private Preview Date: 4th week of October 2026*
Rehearsals: In the first weeks of October 2026* in North Vancouver, at Presentation House Theatre.
