Join the Firehall Theatre Society as a Board Director! Be a part of Vancouver's vibrant arts scene with the Firehall Arts Centre, a beloved hub in the Downtown Eastside for over 40 years. We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors and help us continue showcasing groundbreaking arts that reflect Canada's rich diversity.

Our Mission and Values: The Firehall Theatre Society connects communities and encourages a greater understanding of Canada’s cultural pluralism through its productions, presentations, exhibitions, and artistic practice.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:
As a Board Director, you will:

  • Drive the success of our mission and strategic goals.

  • Uphold Board conduct and stewardship.

  • Support and oversee our Artistic Producer’s efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Board Member you will commit to:

  • Serve a two-year term (renewable)

  • Attend monthly Board meetings

  • Participate in at least one committee

  • Engage in fundraising and other Board events

  • Dedicate approximately 3–5 hours per month

  • Attend performances

QUALIFICATIONS:
We seek dynamic volunteers with a passion for the arts and any of the following skills:

  • Arts/non-profit management

  • Capital Projects Fundraising

  • Construction

  • Finance/Accounting

  • Professional theatre artists

  • Organizational leadership

Our ideal candidates will be:

  • Committed and reliable

  • Effective communicators and ambassadors

  • Passionate about learning and bringing sound judgment

  • Team players who build relationships with integrity
