ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
Urban Ink is seeking enthusiastic new Board Members to join our team for the 2025/26 season!
We are looking for Board Members who share our commitment to supporting Indigenous and diverse voices and encouraging collaboration, inclusion, and social change through challenging, thought-provoking, and groundbreaking productions. Based on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl’ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples, we support Indigenous and diverse artists, providing opportunities to those in our diverse community while paving the way for new practices. We encourage you to join us if you are interested in being part of Urban Ink as we embark on an exciting new chapter of our history, are passionate about social change, and are committed to lifting voices through the performing arts.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:
Urban Ink is seeking expressions of interest from individuals for various positions on our Board of Directors. We seek candidates who are open to and respect Indigenized Practices, as Urban Ink is engaged in new ways of working with an Indigenous lens.
We strongly encourage applications from individuals who are members of marginalized and/or underserved or underrepresented communities, especially those who identify as Indigenous or people of colour, or people living with disabilities. We welcome individuals from diverse age groups, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commitment to the mission, values, and work of Urban Ink
Provide strategic leadership and fiscal stewardship to Urban Ink
Connect Urban Ink’s leadership and the organization to the community and prospective sponsors, donors, and partners
Attend scheduled board meetings as well as Annual General Meetings
Contribute to various committee objectives
Support productions and special events
Assist in developing and maintaining positive relations among stakeholders and the community
QUALIFICATIONS:
Finance and accounting
Human resources
Fundraising, marketing, public relations, and communications
Arts administration, non-profit governance, or a background in the performing arts
