CALL FOR ARTISTS:
The Hearth Gallery (Bowen Island Arts Council), in partnership with the Bowen Pride Society, is planning the Bowen Pride Festival 2026 — a community celebration featuring an art exhibition and cultural events that honour 2SLGBTQIA+ identities and the shared community we all belong to.

They invite proposals from 2SLGBTQIA+ artists in all media — 2D, 3D, literary, performance, and beyond — featuring original work. Artists are encouraged to use this year’s theme as a starting point, exploring the intersections of queerness, identity, and belonging.

HOW TO APPLY:
Please include the following with your proposal:

  1. A completed application form

  2. An artist statement/proposal with a detailed description of your proposed work

  3. A CV/resumé including contact information and exhibition history

  4. Samples or links to previous work (e.g., website, social media)

Submissions should reflect clear artistic intention and thoughtful purpose — the adjudication committee values genuine consideration in every proposal. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. Artists are also encouraged to propose workshops, demonstrations, talks, or other interactive opportunities.

FEES/COMPENSATION:
Art sales are split 65% to the artist and 35% to The Hearth. The Hearth’s portion supports the promotion and management of gallery exhibitions.
