Call for Artists: New & Emerging

CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Open to all artists in British Columbia; however, local drop-off and pick-up are required. This juried group exhibition aims to provide exposure to new and emerging artists. Eligibility is therefore limited to artists who self-identify as emerging artists. Artwork may be individually or collaboratively produced.
Criteria: Only original works created since January 2023 are eligible. Work in all media is accepted. Artists (or artistic collaborations) must submit a minimum of three and a maximum of ten pieces. Between three and five pieces per selected artist (or artistic collaboration) will be exhibited. Submitted works should be from a single series or body of work, as they will be displayed together.
Eligibility: With the exception of Winter Gift Gallery and the fundraising exhibition ART PARTY!, artists may not appear in group exhibitions more frequently than once every three years.
Availability: Accepted work must be available for drop-off on Sunday, May 31, 2026, between 11 am – 4 pm. The exhibition runs June 9 – July 18, 2026. Pick-up is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026, between 11 am – 4 pm.
Presentation: Work must be suitably prepared and ready for exhibition. Wall-mounted work must be appropriately framed (or have professionally finished sides) and must be wired for hanging. Work not properly prepared may not be exhibited.
Sales: Work is not required to be for sale. Pieces not for sale (NFS) must be labeled as such and include a value for insurance purposes. Seymour Art Gallery retains a 35% commission on all works (or orders) sold.
Membership and Compensation: Artists do not need to be members of Seymour Art Gallery to apply. However, selected artists must become members ($25 annual membership). Exhibiting artists will receive an honorarium of $400, which includes the Seymour Art Gallery membership fee. Membership supports the gallery’s exhibitions and programs.

There are no submission or administrative fees associated with applying for this opportunity. Selected artists receive a $400 honorarium (inclusive of the required $25 membership fee).
