CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Outsiders and Others was based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA a long time ago. At one point, we presented an exhibition of local artists who created paintings inside wooden matchboxes. It was a great exhibition, and now it’s time to expand on that concept.

Artists from around the world are encouraged to apply! It all starts with an empty matchbox and your imagination. Artists are invited to create a piece of artwork that exists inside a matchbox. The work can be painting, sculpture, mixed media, or any other medium. The goal is to present a collection of matchboxes that, when opened, reveal a creative vision or world.

Matchboxes vary widely in size and design across the globe. Every matchbox submitted will be included in the exhibition.

HOW TO APPLY:
Artists must physically mail the following items:
– A brief bio
– A resume including education and exhibition history
– The completed matchbox artwork (artists are responsible for mailing the artwork; it will be returned after the exhibition)
– Artwork details: title, medium, and sale price

FEES/COMPENSATION:
There are no fees to apply or exhibit.
