CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Victoria at Dusk is a winter celebration of light, art, and discovery that will illuminate downtown Victoria in February 2026. We invite installation artists, digital artists, performers, and creative thinkers to reimagine the winter city through light, art, performance, music, and storytelling. We’re seeking illuminated sculptures, immersive zones, creative performances, and interactive experiences that are engaging, unexpected, and accessible.
WHAT IS VICTORIA AT DUSK
A winter arts experience that will light up a curated walking trail through downtown Victoria with art, performances, and community connection. The experience features local and visiting artists, creatives, and storytelling to create a vibrant, glowing downtown brightening a winter weekend. Hubs of creativity in indoor and outdoor spaces, connected by a downtown walking route, will invite curiosity, wonder, and exploration for all ages.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
— Light-based installations, sculptures, and temporary public art installations
— Digital art, new media, projections
— Performance-based works
— Interactive or participatory pieces
— New creations or existing works
— Site-specific or story-specific works with a link to Victoria, Vancouver Island, or BC, as well as already created works not highlighting these themes
Your work should:
— Be visually striking at night
— Be safe and durable in winter weather if exterior
— Reflect themes of light, place, enchantment, or discovery
— Be suitable for interior or exterior presentation, and can be grand or small-scale
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
— Artists and creatives
— Architects and designers
— Community groups, art collectives, businesses
— First Nations, particularly lək̓ʷəŋən individuals, groups, collectives
— Artists of all backgrounds and experiences including BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and those facing barriers to traditional exhibitions
— Emerging and experienced artists/groups

Open call launch: July 2026
Submission deadline: Midnight September 1, 2026
Notifications: November 2026
Festival dates: February 19 - 21, 2027
