CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Langley City is inviting artists, artist teams, and creatives from the Lower Mainland and surrounding region to apply for the Fall Street Banner Program 2026-01. The selected artist(s) will work with Langley City to develop artwork for street banners displayed throughout downtown Langley City.
The program celebrates the creativity, diversity, and unique character of the community while creating a vibrant and welcoming environment. Two complementary banner designs will be selected for display during the fall season.
WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Two complementary banner designs designed as a left and right banner pair
• Artwork that reflects the spirit of the fall season
• Creative interpretations inspired by Langley City's people, places, nature, culture, and community spirit
• Bold, visually engaging artwork that can be viewed easily from a distance
• Strong colour contrast suitable for an outdoor setting
• Original artwork that is family-friendly and appropriate for public display
• Artwork suitable for a vertical banner format
WHO CAN APPLY:
• Individual artists and artist teams
• Artists and creatives working in mural art and other visual arts suitable for the project
• Artists from the Lower Mainland and surrounding region
• Artists of all backgrounds, identities, experiences, and perspectives
PROJECT LOCATION:
Downtown Langley City, BC; various locations throughout Downtown Langley.
BANNER SPECIFICATIONS:
Approximately 32 inches (W) × 60 inches (H), in a vertical format.
HOW TO APPLY:
Submit your application electronically in PDF format to with the subject line “Fall Street Banner Program 2026-01.”
Please include:
• A current artist resume, CV, or short biography
• Up to 5 images, links, or other examples that represent your artistic practice
• A brief statement about your artwork and/or your interest in this opportunity (maximum one page)
• Optional: A brief concept or rough sketch may be included, but is not required
Final banner artwork is not required at the application stage. Selected artist(s) will work with Langley City to develop the final banner designs.

FEES/COMPENSATION:
The selected artist(s) will receive an honorarium of $2,000 CAD for the completed banner design package, consisting of the left and right banner pair. Fabrication, printing, and installation costs will be covered by Langley City. Selected artists may be contacted to discuss minor revisions before final production.
