To give you a broader look at the bigger picture of global arts and culture, the BC Alliance will occasionally take a look the world of international arts, culture and heritage advocacy. Here's what's going on in Australia

In Sydney, Australia, 27 cultural organizations have come together to form the Sydney Culture Network. The Network is helmed by the University of New South Wales and "will link Sydney’s artistic hubs – galleries, libraries and museums – to boost collaboration, research, programming and data sharing, and to grow public engagement," according to Gina Fairley for ArtsHub (paywall content).

"Sydney Culture Network members have developed a collaborative working methodology through monthly meetings over the last 18 months, and have agreed on a constitution and organizational form which will allow a flexible, non-hierarchical structure for a variety of projects, according to the organization’s website," the article continues.

The network includes galleries, museums, libraries, schools, and cultural spaces. It will launch publicly in 2018.
