Victoria Foundation Awards $2.3 Million in Funding to Vancouver Island Non-Profits
/The Victoria Foundation has approved a record high $2,294,724.40 in annual Community Grants to 104 non-profit organizations on Vancouver Island, including over 25 arts and culture-related initiatives.
Supported by the Foundation’s Vital Victoria Fund, Community Grants are awarded each December. Individual donors and fund holders also contribute significantly, this year providing almost $800,000 of the total $2.3 million.

- Ballet Victoria (Funds for production technical support; $12,632)
- The Belfry Theatre (Indigenous Artists & Arts Administrators Project; $40,000)
- Civic Orchestra of Victoria (Support for operations grant and bursary for section leaders; $10,000)
- Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria (Music Program for Marginalized People; $20,000)
- Dance Victoria (Dancers of Damelahamid Outreach; $11,000)
- Ensemble Laude (Mentoring Emerging Female Artists; $9,900)
- Jewish Community Centre of Victoria (The Victoria International Jewish Film Festival; $7,000)
- Kaleidoscope Theatre (Family Theatre Festival 2018; $15,000)
- L'Arche Comox Valley (Craftworx Collective; $15,000)
- M'akola Housing Society (West Shore Aboriginal Day Festival; $7,000)
- OCTA Collective (artsREACH In-School Program; $11,204.05)
- Ptarmigan Music and Theatre (Once Upon an Island: Building Community Through Storytelling; $15,000)
- SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus (Raising the Bar: Higher Performance and Commitment Goals for SYJ; $12,000)
- Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus (20th Anniversary Music Program; $15,000)
- Story Studio Writing Society (Creative Writing Programming for Schools with Vulnerable Student Populations; $30,000)
