British Columbia Arts Council Announces Action Plan for 2022—2024

On April 8th, 2022, the BC Arts Council announced its Extending Foundations: Action Plan 2022—2024. The plan focuses on reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion and access and aims to respond to the need for systemic change by reducing barriers, increasing accessibility, and making space for those that have been historically left out.  

Extending Foundations: Action Plan 2022—2024 outlines the Province’s plan to enhance accessibility, reduce barriers and support diversity in the B.C. arts community.

Extending Foundations: Action Plan 2022-2024 identifies seven key motion areas of the council for the subsequent two years:

• Strategic Visioning and Planning

• Variety, Fairness and Entry Program Help

• Course of and Process Enhancements

• Modernize Peer Evaluation

• Rebalance of Funding Distribution

• Sustaining the Arts Impression Grant Program

• Continued assist for the Arts Infrastructure Program
