Deadline Extended for RISING TIDES, a Mentorship Initiative for IBPOC Arts Administrators

The following is excerpted from the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT).

RISING TIDES is a multi-faceted skill development platform designed for IBPOC (Indigenous, Black and People of Colour) arts administrators and managers to build connections, awareness, and learning exchanges within the IBPOC arts administration community. Led by PACT (Professional Association of Canadian Theatres), Native Earth Performing Arts, Obsidian Theatre, Urban Ink, Green Thumb Theatre, Pacific Theatre, and Nightwood Theatre, the RISING TIDES program intends to fill a gap in the national performing arts sector towards development and training for emerging/mid-career IBPOC administrators and managers, specific to the needs of this community.

RISING TIDES will pair participants with an established arts administrator for this paid virtual learning exchange taking place from September 2022 - September 2023. Working in tandem with Open Door, RISING TIDES will be facilitated and self-directed by the participants, feature guest panel discussions, as well as optional volunteer cohort meetings through the Open Door Initiative.

The application consists of a few short questions to collect applicant information, one section that will allow you to submit your Resume or CV (Word or pdf. preferred), and ten questions of varying lengths that are based on your experience with arts administration or management.

For questions, requests for extension, or if you require any accessibility accommodations in order to submit your application, please contact Paul Smith (Program Assistant at PACT) at pauls@pact.ca or at 416.595.6455 x1519 for alternative ways to apply (i.e., Written answers in a separate Word or Powerpoint file, GoogleDoc, pdf., video, case-by-case extension, etc.)

Participants will participate in 2-3 monthly virtual sessions from September 2022 - September 2023 and will be compensated $120/month for 2-3 hours per month, for a total compensation of $2,040 CAD. Applications are due Sunday, July 10th, 2022 at 11:59pm/EST, and the application form can be found here.
