Craig Hall Leaving Rumble Productions

The Board of Directors of Rumble Productions has announced the departure of Craig Hall, artistic producer, in January 2012.

Craig has been with Rumble since 2006. Craig is leaving to take on a new challenge as Artistic Director of Vertigo Theatre in Calgary, Alberta. He will move into his new position on July 1, 2012.

Of his tenure at Rumble, he said, “I have had an incredible six years at Rumble and am very proud of the work we have done in that time. Our last few seasons have seen sold-out houses and visits to cities across Canada and into the United States.

Finance Committee Hearings Announced

The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services yesterday announced its plans for conducting province-wide budget consultations. Public hearings will begin on September 15, 2011 once the Budget 2012 Consultation Paper has been received by the all-party Committee.

“We encourage interested individuals and organizations to take part in this important process,” said Committee Chair Rob Howard. “The budget consultations provide an excellent opportunity for the public to express their views regarding next year’s provincial budget.”

Between October 2011 and June 2013, several prominent artists and educators will share their experiences and address the topic "Arts Matter" as part of the Arts Matter Lecture Series presented by Langley Fine Arts School, SFU’s Faculty of Education and Research for Youth, Music and Education,

The Series opens with an address by noted educator Sir Ken Robinson on October 14. Sir Ken is an internationally recognized leader in the development of education, creativity and innovation.

Gaming Grant Review Forum Dates Announced

British Columbia's Community Gaming Grant Review will visit 14 communities across the province during August and September, Skip Triplett announced today.

Appointed earlier this month by Premier Christy Clark as the independent reviewer of the province's community gaming grant process, Triplett will begin a 14-city tour on Aug. 11 in Campbell River and conclude with a Sept. 16 session in Vancouver.
