JOB DESCRIPTION:
North Ink Tattoo is seeking skilled and experienced Tattoo Artists to join its team. The Tattoo Artist will create high-quality, custom tattoo designs while delivering an exceptional client experience. This role involves close collaboration with clients to bring their artistic vision to life, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety, and contributing to the professional and creative environment of the studio.

This is a permanent, full-time position with flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends. The position is based at North Ink Tattoo Studio in Vancouver, BC, and is open to candidates who meet the experience and skill requirements outlined below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create high-quality, custom tattoo designs

  • Consult with and advise clients on size, colour, design, placement, and aftercare instructions

  • Follow client requests and artistic vision

  • Design and execute custom tattoo work with precision and high-quality standards

  • Use tattoo machines to permanently pigment the client’s skin according to approved designs

  • Repair and mask aesthetic defects, including cover-up tattoos and modifications

  • Maintain health and safety procedures

  • Ensure a safe and hygienic working environment by following strict sterilization and sanitation protocols

  • Operate, sterilize, and maintain tattooing equipment and work areas in accordance with industry standards and regulations

  • Manage appointment scheduling and client records, including consent forms and design approvals

  • Welcome walk-in clients and provide exceptional customer service

  • Collaborate with other artists and staff to maintain a professional, friendly, and creative studio environment

  • Stay up to date with tattooing trends, techniques, and safety regulations

  • Assist with promotional events, social media engagement, and marketing efforts to enhance studio visibility

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: No formal education required

  • Work experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Tattoo Artist

  • Work setting: Tattoo studio

  • Creative artistic talent and strong technical skills in operating a tattoo machine

  • High-level custom work demonstrated through a portfolio

  • Colour realism experience

  • Quality of work consistent with the studio’s standards
