Pathways Program Guide

Organization:

Pathways Program (c/o Arts BC)

Deadline:

Jun. 26, 2025

Organization Description:

Pathways is a collaborative initiative led by Arts BC, the BC Museums Association (BCMA), the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance (GVPTA), and the Rural Arts Inclusion Lab (RAIL). We work with arts, culture, and heritage organizations across British Columbia as they action equity and access in their work; whether that is exploring complex questions, implementing new guidelines or policies, or deepening community relationships. Pathways is a place to work out what implementing equity looks like in specific and unique situations.

Launched in 2023, what started as a year-long pilot program has developed into a network of over 125 organizations, of varying sizes and disciplines, from across the province that continue to grow, support, and learn from each other. Cycle 3 will begin in October 2025 for the fall participants, with an additional group of participants in January

The Pathways program is in a period of stabilization as it transitions from the initial development and pilot phases into a phase that integrates learnings from the past cycles, and formalizes and streamlines administrative and programmatic elements of the program.

Job Description:

We’re seeking to onboard one or more additional individuals in the role of Pathways Guide. The position works directly with program participants navigating deep and sometimes challenging conversations about equity, access, and reconciliation, as well as organizational change within the context of the sector, their region and community, and internal realities. This role is ideal for individuals who are both empathetic and pragmatic, who have experience in coaching, facilitation, and/or organizational leadership, working with the themes of the Pathways program.

Pathways Guides require a significant amount of self-accountability, time management, and organizational skills in order to work independently, while also receiving guidance and support from the Pathways management team, and occasionally working with other Guides and facilitators.

For clarity, Pathways Guides are not consultants and do not offer services to review, develop, or assess policies, programs, or activities, and do not facilitate negotiations, mediations, meetings or gatherings for the participating organizations.
