JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time, year-round position, with regular hours during the academic year and some seasonal variation in summer (teaching camps, reduced lessons).
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada; those without authorization will not be considered.
This is an employee position (not contractor), and wage includes teaching, planning, mentoring, and administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement individualized teaching programs that develop each student’s technical and musical skills
Provide encouragement, guidance, and direction to students
Organize and support student performance opportunities, including studio recitals, festivals, community events, and RCM exams
Contribute to the academy’s musical community through collaboration with colleagues and participation in academy events
Lead small and large ensembles, group classes, and accompanist duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a minimum Bachelor’s degree in music (Guitar / Ukulele)
Have experience teaching private music lessons to a variety of ages and skill levels
Possess advanced technical knowledge of the guitar and ukulele
Be experienced in teaching and performing a variety of musical genres
Have experience accompanying beginner to advanced singers and/or choirs
Be familiar with or have experience teaching the RCM Guitar program and other beginner guitar/ukulele methods
Have experience teaching beginner group classes and leading student ensembles
Have strong English communication skills (oral and written)
