Job Description:
**This is an exciting opportunity through the Canada Summer Jobs Program for a youth (15–30 years old, Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada) to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, communications, and non-profit operations.**
The Improv Centre is seeking a Fundraising and Communications Coordinator to assist in planning and executing impactful fundraising initiatives and events related to our 45th anniversary of performing the improv show format Theatresports™ and to assist our marketing and communications staff in creating and executing engaging online content.
Working closely with the TIC team, the successful candidate will help reach fundraising goals to support our artistic programming and contribute their creativity and communications skills to deepening public engagement and supporting our mission of inspiring joy and connection through improv. Some operations and administration assignments will provide important support to the organization and provide a look at the inner workings of an arts organization.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising Initiatives:
• Research and develop donor and sponsor opportunities.
• Maintain and update databases for donors, sponsors, and event participants.
• Contribute to writing funding proposals and grant applications.
• Help craft sponsorship packages and donor outreach strategies.
• Help plan and execute fundraising activities such as auctions, raffles, etc.
• Assist in organizing fundraising events and campaigns, including developing themes,
schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate logistics such as ticketing, vendors, and volunteer assignments.
Communications:
• Collaborate on promotional campaigns (social media, newsletters, posters) to build
awareness and engagement for TIC’s activities.
• Create fun video, graphic, and written content for TIC’s social media campaigns.
Administrative Support:
• Track event budgets, prepare post-event reports, and manage follow-ups.
• Support general administrative tasks as needed.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
• Participate in all-staff meetings to discuss organizational priorities and events.
• Work closely with the leadership team (Administration, Marketing, Artistic).
Qualifications:
This is an exciting opportunity through the Canada Summer Jobs Program for a youth (15–30 years old, Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada) to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, communications, and non-profit operations.
• Must meet Canada Summer Jobs Program eligibility criteria.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Interest in event planning, communications, nonprofit work, or arts administration.
• Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms.
• A creative problem-solver and team player.
• Experience in fundraising or event planning is an asset but not required.

Remuneration:
$21.50/hour plus 4% vacation pay
