Job Description:
The Richmond Cultural Centre (RCC) is the City’s hub for high quality arts visual, performing and media arts programs that ensure affordable access to a strong base of introductory and beginner arts education as well as higher-level learning opportunities in visual and performing arts including ballet, pottery, music, painting and more. This position also supports Community Cultural Development initiatives including a wide range of activities and events that support local artists and arts organizations. Examples include the Resident Art Groups, Richmond Cultural Centre Upper Rotunda exhibits and arts outreach programs, and events. This position involves working on a team to implement and administer a variety of arts and cultural activities within a busy arts and cultural facility.
Responsibilities:
Assist with administration of a variety of arts classes.
Assist with administration, promotion, and implementation of arts events and community arts outreach activities.
Leadership role in organizing and supervising volunteers.
Leadership role in organizing and communication with Resident Art Groups.
Assist with rental and facility bookings.
Specific areas of expectation include customer service, administrative support, and first aid implementation.
Assist with the marketing and promotion of various arts activities.
Assist in the planning of special events.
Assist with establishing, developing and implementing arts programs, and in maintaining and evaluating current programs.
Assist with the research of various trends and opportunities.
Provide assistance to senior staff as required.
Qualifications:
Completion of a Diploma in Arts Administration, Community Recreation, or related arts field (e.g. fine arts, music, visual arts, media arts, performing arts) is preferred.
Completion of related coursework equivalent to a minimum of 1 year post-secondary is required, supplemented by a minimum of 1 year and up to and including 2 years of related experience.
A broad understanding of visual, media, and performing arts is an asset.
Experience as an artist or in arts management is an asset.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence for the Province of British Columbia.
An equivalent level of education, training and experience may be considered.

Remuneration:
$38.21 - $44.98/hr
