Job Description:
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Assistant will help research, plan and execute marketing initiatives for our upcoming 2026/27 season and our Gateway Academy classes. Working closely with the Marketing Co-ordinator, the candidate will help prepare promotional assets, create targeted mailing lists, research potential community partners, develop fun, engaging social media content, and foster community interaction on our social media channels. The Digital Marketing Assistant will also be expected to attend local community events such as the Salmon Festival on July 1, and engage with the public. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the performing arts, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a keen understanding of social media trends. Responsibilities:
• Planning, creating and designing social media content
• Assisting with the planning and writing of promotional emails
• Designing print and digital materials as needed
• Researching community groups and creating email templates for community outreach
• Uploading and maintaining content for event listing websites
• Creating promotional collateral materials and templates
• Engaging the public at community engagement activities and events
• Providing other duties as required in the marketing department
Qualifications:
Candidates with relevant, transferable skills who do not exactly meet the specifications below are encouraged to apply
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• An ability to provide excellent customer service
• A keen interest in theatre and performing arts
• Proven ability to balance individual initiative with working as part of a dynamic team
• Event planning and/or community outreach experience
• Superior detail orientation and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and Canva as an asset

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. The successful applicant must:
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Remuneration:
$18.25/hr + 4% vacation pay
