Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Voice Instructor to provide private and semi-private voice lessons for students of all ages and skill levels on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30pm – 9pm. The successful candidate will be passionate about music education, enjoy working with children, youth and adults, and be able to create a welcoming, encouraging, and structured learning environment that supports each student’s musical growth and confidence. Classes run from October to June.

Responsibilities:

Provide individualized instruction that supports students in developing strong vocal foundations while fostering confidence, creativity, and a lifelong enjoyment of music. Instructors will work with beginner through advanced students and adapt lessons to meet a variety of learning styles, interests, and abilities. Responsibilities also include communicating professionally with students, families, and staff, and maintaining a safe, organized, and respectful teaching environment.

Qualifications:

An ARCT diploma, university degree in music, or equivalent training in vocal performance and music education, as well as a minimum of 100 hours of teaching experience as a music instructor, preferably with children and youth. A First Aid Certificate (First Aid + CPR-C) is a condition of employment for all City of Burnaby instructors.
