Job Description:

Coastal Peoples has an exciting opportunity for a Sales & Marketing professional to join our vibrant Art Gallery in downtown Vancouver. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets and executing marketing objectives. The role will involve prospecting and soliciting clients as well as involvement in all aspects of marketing the gallery. Our Gallery can offer you the opportunity to experience Indigenous culture in an arts environment. Since 1996, Coastal Peoples Gallery has presented a world class First Nations and Inuit collection and has brought visitors and collectors together to experience their art & culture in warm and inviting gallery setting.

We’re seeking a self-motivated, super organized and versatile individual with an eye for detail who possesses the essential skills required and is willing to initiate projects while handling specific duties during a flexible work week. Responsibilities:

Working within a team environment, you would perform key tasks to assist in the performance of the gallery, including:

  • Engage with potential buyers and clients in person and electronically

  • Sustain relationships with and prospect clientele to increase sales in person or via CRM

  • Prepare and accomplish key sales & marketing objectives and strategies

  • Create content, manage engagement, track progress and execute plans

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate advertising and promotions

  • Create partnership opportunities within existing and/or new markets

  • Identify marketing opportunities based upon gallery’s target markets & brand

  • Improve profitability through research and identifying new market opportunities

  • Prepare and obtain materials specific to exhibitions and special events

  • Collect, analyze and provide reports on data and trends

  • Establish and maintain external relationships with media partners, vendors and gallery graphic designer

  • Develop a creative brief to guide each campaign including exhibitions

  • Work with gallery graphic designer to develop creative visuals and branding

  • Negotiate and execute media buys within budget

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or Diploma is marketing or other relevant field

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in sales & marketing

  • Experience with digital marketing

  • Confident, dependable individual to contribute enthusiastically and take on key sales & marketing responsibilities within an intimate team environment

  • Self-reliant multi-tasker capable of working independently and as a part of an integrated team

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills experience dealing with high-end clientele

  • A flair for the creative and project management skills are necessary

  • Ability to handle deadlines and problem-solve quickly and effectively

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills Adobe Photoshop and CRM system experience is an asset Ability to handle delicate artwork in a professional manner

  • Experience with printed collateral materials and catalogues is an asset

  • Experience in maintaining a client database and/or web site is an asset

  • Experience in corporate B2B sales and/or events management is an asset

  • An interest or specific knowledge in Canadian First Nations’ culture is preferred

  • Flexible weekly schedule including some weekends
