North Van Arts, founded in 1969 as The North Vancouver Community Arts Council, is a grassroots, non-profit, charitable cultural organization dedicated to maximizing the intrinsic value of the arts in all media. Our mandate is to enable emerging and professional artists in all disciplines, to bridge cultures, and to build strong and healthy communities through the arts.
Volunteers are an integral part of the success of the outstanding work of North Van Arts. They dramatically increase the capacity and effectiveness of the organization and all our programs, projects, exhibitions, and events. Volunteering with North Van Arts in any capacity assists in enriching the overall quality of life in this community where we live, work, and play.
Located in CityScape Community ArtSpace, the organization consists of a volunteer Board of Directors, an Executive Director, support staff, and over 100 dedicated volunteers. Our membership is over 400 strong and includes individuals, artists, students, seniors, families, cultural groups, and businesses.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:
Our annual North Shore Art Crawl is back for its 15th edition! We are looking for art-loving volunteers to join us on the first weekend of October (Oct. 4–5) across seven venues in the North Shore to celebrate art and support local artists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist artists with set-up if needed (no heavy lifting required, morning shifts)
Become familiar with the venue (bathroom location, emergency exits, accessible entrances, etc.)
Watch an artist’s station if they need to take a short break
Keep count of visitors using the “Visitor Tally Sheet”
Inform visitors of other Art Crawl locations in the area
Inform visitors of North Van Arts programming
Assist with take-down at the end of the event (afternoon shifts)
NVA staff will brief you prior to your shift(s).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Outgoing and personable
Interest in the arts
Previous customer service or volunteering experience preferred but not required
