Indian Summer Festival is a not-for-profit secular arts organization and registered charity. We are dedicated to the exceptional creativity of South Asian arts and artists. Through our programming, we push boundaries and merge worlds. Our approach to programming is unique and embraces the complex diversity of South Asian voices and cultures. Curating through a South Asian lens, we centre and amplify diverse South Asian artists in conversation with BIMPOC artists, especially those from Black and Indigenous communities. Driven by care and curiosity, we nurture artistic exploration and innovation, expanding the possibilities of South Asian art and performance.

Do you want to make a difference through Art, Culture, and Community? Join us as a volunteer for the 16th edition of Indian Summer Festival and be part of a dynamic team bringing powerful, cross-cultural experiences to life. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help create a seamless and unforgettable festival experience. The festival will run from July 9 to July 19, 2026 - join us in making magic happen!

Responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by ushering and greeting guests
- Support accessibility and help make our events inclusive for all attendees
- Transform venues into the warm and vibrant spaces Indian Summer Festival is known for through decor, stage setup and space design
- Connect with artists by supporting artist hospitality
- Gain front-of-house experience at our box office, merchandise table, and concession stands
- Help us capture magical moments by taking photos and videos for our social media channels
Qualifications:
As ambassadors of the festival, volunteers are expected to be:
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Professional and culturally aware
- Friendly, respectful, and guest-focused
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take initiative
- Positive and enthusiastic
Time Commitment:
- One training session in June (mandatory)
- Minimum of 6 hours of volunteering during the festival (July 9-19)
