CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Amelia Douglas Gallery is currently accepting submissions for its 2026–2027 exhibition season, running from mid-December 2026 to August 2027. The gallery includes a 35-foot inner gallery wall, a 53-foot outer gallery wall, and up to six display cases suitable for standing works such as sculpture and ceramics. Solo and group exhibitions in all visual arts media are encouraged.
The gallery is a non-profit organization run by the Douglas College community, with a mandate to feature emerging and established BC artists while enhancing the College’s educational offerings. The gallery is located on the 4th floor of Douglas College’s New Westminster campus and is open to the public Monday to Friday from 10am to 7:30pm and Saturday from 11am to 4pm. Admission is free.
Selected artists must live in British Columbia and be available to deliver, install, and pick up their work in person. Artists who have not exhibited in New Westminster in the previous year will be prioritized, and artists who have exhibited at the gallery within the past two years (2025–2026) will not be considered. Applications are strongly encouraged from artists from marginalized communities, including those identifying as disabled, Indigenous, Black, people of colour, and LGBTQ+. Applicants may self-identify if they wish.
All exhibitions must include a minimum of 10 pieces that are ready to hang or display. Works must be available for display for at least two months. The gallery cannot accommodate audiovisual or video components on display, though QR codes linking to digital content are permitted. AI-generated artwork will not be accepted.
