CALL FOR ARTISTS:
Every year, Flamenco Rosario offers an emerging or mid-career flamenco dance artist the opportunity to research and develop a creative idea with the support of an experienced mentor. This year’s mentor is Spanish flamenco dancer Irene Morales.
To be eligible, applicants must be emerging or mid-career Canadian professional flamenco artists. This includes artists who have completed basic or professional training, maintained a professional dance career for at least one year, and have received artist fees for performing in professional public settings.
The selected mentee will receive up to 28 hours of free studio time at the Scotiabank Dance Centre in Vancouver (July 19–25, 2026, 10:00am–2:00pm), 10–15 hours of one-on-one mentorship, and an opportunity to share work at an Open Studio Showing on July 25 with audience participation. A $1,000 award is also included.

A one-page proposal outlining your creative idea
Your resume (PDF format)
A 5-minute video of you dancing (MP4 or web link)
Applicants must be available for the full residency period (July 19–25, 2026). Previous recipients must wait two years before reapplying.
FEES/COMPENSATION:
There are no fees to apply. Selected artists receive studio time, mentorship, and a $1,000 award.
