Western Canada’s largest theatre company, the Arts Club announced last week at its 2013/2014 season launch party an extensive corporate sponsorship by BMO Financial Group. The commitment ensures that the Arts Club’s rich history is celebrated during its milestone season, and also provides a lasting legacy and solid platform for future endeavours. 

The Key Events List (pdf), compiled by your Alliance for Arts and Culture, lists upcoming events in and around Metro Vancouver through the next 12 months. The list is designed to be a helpful guide to event planners, who will find the roster helpful in avoiding scheduling conflicts. The list includes major cultural dates, opening nights, festivals, gala fundraisers and significant community events and activities.

This year's 10th annual Audain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Visual Arts will go to two recipients rather than one: BC artists Gathie Falk and Takao Tanabe. 

Falk works in ceramics, painting, and sculpture, using themes and objects from everyday life. She is a recipient of the Order of Canada, the Order of British Columbia, and the Governor General’s Award in Visual Arts.

He is a leader in British Columbia’s cultural sector and a strong believer in Vancity’s role as a community builder.
