JOB DESCRIPTION:
The City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative, and energetic Early Childhood Music & Art Instructors to teach recreational music programs. The Leader will develop and implement quality, instructional, and engaging classes in music for parents and children ages newborn to five. Classes may include rhymes, dance, singing, echoing, small percussion instruments, story time, and object-based learning. Programs run weekly during weekday mornings, weekday after-school/evenings, and weekends. Week-long summer camps run Monday to Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement quality, instructional, and engaging classes in music for parents and children ages newborn to five.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong teaching background and experience instructing music to a variety of age groups.
ECE Certification is an asset.
Flexible, self-motivated, and able to take initiative with little supervision.
Responsible and punctual.
Strong customer service skills with excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
Willing to work 2–4 hour shifts in Tsawwassen, Ladner, and/or North Delta.
Available to work evenings (starting as early as 3pm) and weekends.
Able to commit to two sessions (2 months in duration) of instruction.
Able to create lesson plans for a series of sessional lessons.
Must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check.
