JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for someone to work with us to support a new winter festival. We are looking for someone currently based in Victoria, BC, who has event management experience—experience within creative industries is an asset—to be our on-the-ground Partnerships and Event Coordinator for the new light art festival, which occurs in February 2026.
We are looking for someone to work remotely around 20 hours per week, with more hours surrounding the event. The hours are flexible, require some weekend work, and a lot of adaptability, as each week will be different and the hours will increase as we approach the event. Ideally, the Coordinator will have good connections within the event and/or creative industry, be able to represent The Wilder professionally, and support all of the behind-the-scenes logistical work as we develop and execute the festival.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre-event work including arranging advertising and sponsorship contracts, and securing vendors, partners, sponsors, and permits
Event administration, including artist contracts, compiling event documentation, and tracking schedules, contracts, and reporting
Event production, including setting up activations and event zones
Event coordination, including logistics, and volunteer and staff coordination
Site setup, safety management, technical support, troubleshooting, and hands-on coordination
QUALIFICATIONS:
Creative and artistic (desirable but not essential)
Positive and can-do attitude, with a love for learning and thinking outside the box
Must have a flexible work schedule and be available to align working time with the Director’s work days; regular virtual collaboration required
Able to work independently with motivation and drive; capable of managing own workload and meeting deadlines
Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and adaptability skills
Event experience is essential
Must be based in Victoria, BC
Must have a home working setup, including phone, computer, and internet access
University degree in management, arts, business, or related fields
HOW TO APPLY:
Apply now! We expect that the candidate will earn approximately $25–$30 per hour depending on their experience, with a fluctuating schedule from 10–40 hours per week depending on the time, and be on site for each night of our winter event. They will work remotely and must be based in Victoria. We aim to create a positive, open learning environment where our team can shine and grow through our initiatives, and we are flexible about who we take on—we love diverse skills and interests, so we welcome applications from candidates who may fit some of the above but not everything.
Please check out our initiatives at www.thewilder.ca and send your resume to hello@thewilder.ca. We will be reviewing applications as they are received.
