JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Sales & Patron Services is a senior leadership role responsible for growing Globe Theatre’s earned revenue and attendance while stewarding meaningful, welcoming, and mission-driven patron experiences. Working at the intersection of commerce and culture, this role is designed for someone who deeply values live theatre and understands that audience development, artistic risk, and financial sustainability are interdependent.
This position leads all sales activity across the organization, with a mandate to increase attendance and revenue through thoughtful strategy, deep patron knowledge, and rigorous analysis of sales and attendance data. The Director recognizes that different productions serve different functions—some introduce new audiences, some deepen relationships, some advance artistic or community priorities, and some generate significant revenue—and integrates this understanding into long-term audience growth and sustainability planning.
The Director oversees Box Office and Front of House operations, with direct reports including the Box Office Supervisor and Front of House Supervisor, and works closely with the Executive Director and Artistic Director to translate Globe Theatre’s programming clearly and compellingly to the public. Sensitivity to the unique character of Regina and Saskatchewan, and the ability to connect local audiences to Globe Theatre’s work within the broader Canadian theatre landscape, is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the organizational lead for earned revenue and attendance, including single tickets, subscriptions, group sales, and ancillary sales
Develop and execute sales strategies that grow attendance, revenue, and community reach, balancing short-term performance with long-term audience development
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Artistic Director to align sales planning with programming choices, artistic priorities, and Globe Theatre’s mission
Build, launch, and scale a robust group sales program, including corporate, community, education, and tourism initiatives
Collaborate with the Marketing team to align campaigns, pricing, promotions, and messaging with sales goals and artistic intent
Lead pricing strategy, promotions, scaling, and inventory management across the season
Integrate artistic, community, and revenue considerations into season-long forecasting and planning
Lead sales tracking, analysis, and reporting to inform strategy and continuous improvement
Oversee effective use of the CRM, with a strong preference for Tessitura experience
Ensure accurate and strategic use of patron data across departments
Produce regular sales, revenue, and patron insight reports for leadership
Provide strategic leadership to Box Office and Front of House operations
Support supervisors in staff training, performance management, and customer service excellence
Ensure Box Office and Front of House policies align with accessibility requirements and Globe Theatre values
Lead, mentor, and support direct reports, fostering accountability and professional growth
Work cross-departmentally with Marketing, Development, Finance, Production, and Facilities
Partner with Finance on reconciliation, reporting, and financial controls
Contribute as a member of the senior leadership team to organization-wide planning and strategy
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum five years of progressive experience in sales, ticketing, patron services, or revenue leadership, preferably in the performing arts or live events
Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and developing new revenue streams
Strong CRM experience required; Tessitura experience is a significant asset
Proven ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies
Experience leading and managing staff with a collaborative leadership style
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Genuine appreciation for live theatre and understanding of the relationship between audience experience and revenue
Availability for occasional evening and weekend work aligned with performance schedules
