Hyaline is a multidisciplinary artist-led project exploring queer embodiment, material intimacy, and ecological modes of connection through performance, sound, and research-based practice. Operating at the intersection of experimental music, contemporary performance, and biomaterial experimentation, the project investigates transformation, vulnerability, and collective becoming.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Manager / Producer will oversee the performance art project from development through completion, providing high-level guidance, organizational leadership, and hands-on production support. This role balances strategic oversight with day-to-day coordination, ensuring the project stays on track creatively, logistically, administratively, and financially. The ideal candidate is both a big-picture thinker and a detail-oriented organizer, comfortable working across artistic, administrative, and production contexts in an interdisciplinary performance environment. The contract runs from January 2026 to April 1, 2026, totaling approximately 80–115 hours, with 5 hours per week from mid-January to February 28 and 10–40 hours per week from March to April 1.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high-level oversight of the project across all phases

  • Outline and refine project goals and objectives, offering realistic input on timelines, feasibility, and progress

  • Advise on transitions between phases of development and phase completion

  • Mediate major decisions using professional judgment and experience

  • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines and work plans

  • Establish, track, and manage milestones and deliverables

  • Lead weekly progress check-ins with the team

  • Ensure accountability to deadlines across collaborators

  • Identify and flag risks or delays early

  • Manage and improve project management systems such as Google Sheets and Dropbox

  • Maintain timely communication, acknowledging messages within two hours when possible

  • Coordinate collaborators, contractors, and external partners

  • Manage rehearsals, space bookings, and equipment rentals

  • Provide production and technical support, including note-taking during rehearsals and technical runs

  • Assist with physical installation tasks as needed, including moving A/V equipment

  • Support coordination of film production elements and integrate them into live performance workflows

  • Recommend and conduct outreach to collaborators, institutions, venues, and partners

  • Leverage networks within theatre and/or dance communities

  • Act as a liaison between the project team and external stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong professional network within theatre, dance, and/or film communities

  • Experience sourcing and negotiating performance or alternative spaces

  • Film production experience considered an asset

  • Experience managing interdisciplinary, experimental, or performance-based art projects

  • Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills

  • Comfort working in both administrative and physical production contexts

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

REMUNERATION:
$35 per hour
