Last year, artists, arts organizations, and other cultural organizations hosted 795 Culture Days activities in 58 communities across the province.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the BC Culture Days Program Director, the Outreach & Communications Coordinator will support the 2026 BC-wide campaign leading up to Culture Days (Sept. 18–October 4).

Culture Days is an annual pan-Canadian celebration of arts, culture and heritage inviting the public behind the scenes to discover the world of artists and other creative people in their community. Last year, artists, arts organizations, and other cultural organizations hosted 795 Culture Days activities in 58 communities across the province.

We are specifically seeking candidates from Northern B.C. and will consider applicants from other regions of the province. Preference will be given to applicants with a post-secondary degree in Digital Marketing, Film, Media Arts, Fine Arts, Theatre, Journalism, English, Communications, Indigenous Studies, or Arts Administration.

Contract Period: March 1 – October 31, 2026 (20 hrs/week)
Location: This is a remote position requiring regular online communication with BC Culture Days staff and collaborators via Zoom, Google Workspace, and email.
Hours: Flexible hours between 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (Monday–Friday), plus attendance on evenings and weekends at local Culture Days events in September and October.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, draft, and disseminate all BC Culture Days communications and marketing materials
• Coordinate and facilitate Culture Days info sessions
• Liaise with new and existing Culture Days organizers
• Coordinate and design content for BC Culture Days Instagram, Facebook, BlueSky, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube channels
• Manage social media advertising
• Gather and report on social media analytics
• Manage blog and website content
• Assist with strategic planning
• Provide grant and sponsorship application assistance

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; fluency in a second language is an asset
• Ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills; cultural sensitivity training is an asset
• Previous experience managing social media: Instagram, Facebook, BlueSky, TikTok, YouTube
• Experience with Photoshop, graphic design tools (e.g., InDesign, Canva), and iMovie
