Job Description:
Reporting to the General & Artistic Director, the Senior Ballet Instructor holds primary responsibility to train and mentor Goh Ballet dancers in classical ballet. This role ensures consistent vocational training for the pre-professional level students as well. This role also supports the creation of new works for the company through choreography, consistently pushing the artistic standard of Goh Ballet. Additionally, the Senior Ballet Instructor also supports students who pursue competition as part of their training. You will be responsible for the formal training of students at Goh Ballet in classical ballet. You are dependable, adaptable, and responsible. You are well organized and have great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
● Teach six (6) days a week, from September to June, various ages and skill level;
● Demonstrate excellent knowledge of classical repertoire;
● Create and/or teach original choreography;
● Prepare students for festivals and competitions;
● Prepare for, know and teach specific syllabus and dance vocabulary;
● Complete report cards and conduct Parent-Teacher interviews;
● Prepare students for year-end demonstrations and showcase performances, including selection of music and costumes;
● Speak English effectively to communicate with students and staff;
● Carry out and follow all regulations and policies of the Academy; and
● Practice and set professional code of conduct at all times.
Qualifications:
For this role, we are seeking a Full-Time (On-Site) Senior Ballet Instructor who understands the complexity of training dancers of different ages and skill level. As the ideal candidate, you are recognized for having strong classical training and a history of choreography and presentation. Other qualifications include:
● Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Dancer, Choreographer and/or Ballet Master/Teacher;
● Received formal training from a recognized ballet instructional institution;
● Experience as an Instructor, Coach, or Choreographer for reputable establishments, festivals or competitions;
● A performance career with a reputable company;
● Fluency in classical ballet as well as contemporary repertoire;
● Proficiency in communicating complex dance concepts into digestible and relatable language; and
● The ability to work well under pressure and a proven ability to prioritize, manage and meet conflicting deadlines.
Additional assets:
● Knowledge of Vaganova method; and
● Teaching certification from a reputable organization in the field of dance instruction is preferred.

Remuneration:
