Arts Programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre and Annex connect Richmond’s diverse community with arts education, cultural experiences and creative spaces.

Studios for dance, digital arts, music, painting, ceramics, fibre and textile arts, performing arts and lapidary arts are home to high-quality artist-led registered programs for all ages each season. These facilities are also used by a number of community arts groups and are available to rent for rehearsals or personal artistic practice.

Job Description:

Applications are now being accepted for
CONTRACT BALLET INSTRUCTOR
for Arts Programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre

HOURS OF WORK
 Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning September 2026
 Fall 2026 season programming with opportunities for additional hours

Responsibilities:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
 Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate Ballet lessons that are creative,
flexible, accessible and adaptable
 Provide a safe, positive and well-managed learning environment
 Instruct lessons for all ages and abilities
 Communicate with parents, participants and staff in an effective and respectful manner
 Prepare students for seasonal dance performances
 Maintain the safety of the participants in the classes
 Ensure attendance procedures are followed
 Ensure appropriate set-up, take down and maintenance of program space
 Contribute to and uphold the Richmond Cultural Centre’s reputation for consistent high-quality arts
education

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 Post secondary degree or diploma in dance and/or an equivalent combination of education and a
minimum of 2 years teaching experience in an arts setting
 Proven ability to develop lessons plans
 Excellent supervisory and organizational skills
