General Manager
/ORGANIZATION:
rice and beans theatre society
DEADLINE:
Dec. 14, 2025
ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
rice & beans is a theatre company founded in 2010 by Pedro Chamale and Derek Chan based on the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, also known as Vancouver. We are dedicated to facilitating original Canadian work that tells the story of where we come from and where we are going by way of experimentation with languages and the theatrical form. Through our programming, we provide a platform for the creation, development and production of boundary-pushing theatre by BIPOC or otherwise marginalized theatre-makers, as well as support fellow artists with dramaturgy, resources and mentorship. Each season, we produce a BIPOC-led mainstage production and offer workshops to develop future work. In addition, we host two recurring programs that support the development of new multilingual theatre projects: DBLSPK and our annual Polyphonic Multilingual Creation Program. In the coming years, we are working towards touring some productions nationally, starting with our production of Jade Circle, which is set to tour in spring 2026.
