Located on the territories of the Lekwungen speaking peoples, the Belfry Theatre is Victoria BC’s largest professional not-for-profit theatre. As a professional theatre company, we are dedicated to producing contemporary plays, with an emphasis on Canadian work.

Each season, the Belfry produces four to six primarily Canadian contemporary plays and presents productions from across Canada as part of our annual SPARK Festival. The company has two performance spaces, which are also available for rent. The company actively hosts local artists and companies and provides access to several community organizations. Job Description:

The Associate Audience Services Manager works collaboratively with the Audience Services Manager one day per week and independently three days per week. They will provide oversight for all Box Office operations and support for Front of House.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

Customer Relationship Management, including but not limited to weekly and on-demand sales reporting and analysis for development, marketing, and executive departments

Season and event setup, including price structuring and subscription packages

Box Office staff scheduling and direct or delegated responsibility for:

Training of new hires

Maintenance of permanent, seasonal and on-call Clerk skills.

Preparation & submission of box office staff hours for weekly payroll In conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Director, preparation of mail lists for seasonal, show-by-show, and special events marketing mailouts

Organization of Opening Night Guest List (e.g. Media, Sponsors, Staff & Cast)

General office operations Facilitating the ticketing needs of renters and group bookings

Resolving patron disputes

Providing the highest possible calibre of patron service to all guests of the Belfry, including audience members and visiting artists.

And in collaboration with the Front of House Manager:

Hiring of additional FOH staff as required on a seasonal basis

Consulting with the FOH Manager to ensure exceptional volunteer relations and management

Ensuring the smooth operation of FOH operations, including concession inventory management

Ensuring that payroll processing for casual hires is completed correctly and on time

Qualifications:

Experience with database or ticket sales software (knowledge of the Spektrix ticketing system is an asset, but not required)

Management experience in a customer service setting

Strong verbal communication skills, both on the phone and in-person

Ability to compile and interpret data

Aptitude with math and spreadsheets

A calm, friendly manner

Comfortable working closely with others in a small office setting

Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada.

A background or strong interest in the Arts

Remuneration:

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, starting at $23.50 per hour Group benefits plan with extended health, dental care, LTD etc. Employer matching RRSP program. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required with time off in lieu.
